Dickinson students and members of the Allison Memorial church will work together to create of performance of a Nativity play. The Men’s Senate ordered its Tribunal to remove several Freshman Rules, affective after the winter break. It is discovered that the library has great diversity in books. The Women’s Senate plans future events for the women of the college. The Women’s Club gives a banquet in honor of the tenth anniversary of the founding of the Carlisle branch of the American Association of University Women. The debate squad will participate in a debate forum at Juniata College.

Dickinsonian, October 23, 1970

Pass/ fail options, freshmen grades, and general grading systems are discussed at an open hearing held by the Academic Standards Committee who are currently evaluating the grading system. An IPR subcommittee proposes to implement a college legislative body consisting of faculty, students, and administrators. Renovation of the Durbin Oratory is completed to make the chapel more appropriate for all worship and a re-dedication ceremony will follow. The college will open ATS for experimental use in February.

Workmen resume cutting down trees after a student protest halted work for two days. Extensive discussion of student opposition to cutting down trees highlighted the first faculty meeting of the year. The Senate will change its committee structure by dissolving some committees whose duties overlap those of college committees. 35 random freshmen were invited to Dean Hawkins first Fireside Chat. The first in a series of articles on the results of a study conducted by the Institutional Priorities and Resources committee for the Allenberry trustee conference is presented.

The Dickinsonian takes third place in national competition. Alpha Psi Omega admits three top drama students. Eero Saarinen receives Dickinson Art Award. A holiday concert will be given by the college choir. Thirty attend a leadership gathering given by Omicron Delta Kappa. Student Senate seeks the results of a survey regarding a new grading system. Catholic Club sponsors an interfaith discussion. Fall athletic recognition assembly was held. Wrestlers hope for an improvement this season. Bob Worthington posts best offensive yardage in '59 season.
