Students have mixed feelings on the large number of "outsiders" studying on campus this summer; specifically from the international auditing and accounting firm. The College looses many of its elm trees to Dutch Elm disease. M. Charles Seller is announced as Presidential Assistant. A review and pictures of the Redskins performance while at Dickinson is given. Sir Hugh Stott Taylor, first Priestley Award recipient, passes away. The Institutional Priorities and Resources Committee plans to install a computer terminal in the library. The Student Senate unanimously reaffirms it stand for a unicameral all-College legislative body. Faculty approves two Consortium programs which will make study possible at the Mysore Institute through programs at the India Institute as well as in Harrisburg for the Harrisburg Urban Semester. WDCV's resolution to operate an FM station is presented through the Development and Communications Committee and endorsed by the Board of Trustees. A list of courses to be offered in summer school will be distributed.

Three separate incidents involving violence directed against Dickinson students and personnel by local Carlisle youths occurred over the past week, resulting in new security precautions taken by Dickinson campus police, including a second patrolman for the night guard and two way radios for communication with the Carlisle Borough police. The original mermaid from on top of Old West was returned after being taken to New York by a Dickinson dropout.

Librarian Yates Forbis completes plan for a student book walk to transfer books from Bosler Hall to the new Spahr Library.
