A large number of fires during the winter prompts students to request the installation of fire escapes in the buildings. The gymnasium is now opened. President Grover Cleveland writes to the editors of the Dickinsonian.
A Dickinsonian pleas with the campus to be proud of and use original Dickinson songs and cheers after Lafayette accuses Dickinson of stealing their tune. William Perry Eveland class of 1892 contributes reminiscences of college days. Harry F. Pemberton class of 1903 submits a report about his travels as a missionary. Mr. Harry Wetzel and his wife, both Carlisle residents, noticed and put out a fire under the college grandstand before it was able to do serious damage.

Another one of many recent fires in Adams Hall raises suspicion, an investigation and a need to make all dorms more safe. Pennsylvania universities are concerned with the lack of funding aid to higher education and worry about future crises. Professor Robert Entman calls for more student-faculty interaction in the cafeteria and an All-College Committee on Resources has been formed to evaluate the situation. The Personnel Subcommittee is revising evaluations to allow for more student input.
This Dickinsonian opens with a story about a fire that destroyed several stores in Carlisle. The Student Rules Evaluation Committee voted to continue in order to improve social rules at Dickinson. WDCV programs are now on four days a week, four hours a day. Two guest editorials discussed chapel.
