Class Day is planned. Commencement is planned. Rising Sophomore John Burnite is selected to spend summer at German student labor camp. YMCA and YWCA are replaced with Dickinson College Religious Association. Interfraternity Council denies Phi Epsilon Pi and Sigma Tau Phi's requests to join. Belles Lettres Society and Union Philosophical Society unite to form Union Literary Society. Dramatic Club presents "The Fugitive". Dickinson alumnus and professor Charles W. Super writes a book on college history, giving special attention to college traditions and student life during different periods. The Doll Show and Bazaar takes place in Metzger Hall. Plans for Christmas entertainment are announced, to include caroling and a collection of donations for underprivileged children in Tennessee. An informal debate with Gettysburg is planned for after the holiday break. Belles Lettres holds a spelling bee and a debate on coeducation at Dickinson in a joint meeting with the Harmon and McIntyre women's literary societies.
Changes to inter-collegiate rules on basketball lead to the team beginning practice for the season early. A new class on debating and public speaking is held. The Dramatic club announces that it will produce three major productions during the remainder of the academic year, including Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" before the holidays. An article on a missionary's involvement with instituting an athletics program in a Chinese secondary school appears. A feature on Dickinson alumni of prominence in the west appears, focusing largely on football coaches such as Andy Kerr.
Plans for a combined Doll Show and bazaar in December are announced. Soccer and volleyball are added to the college's sports program. Red identification tags are introduced to provide students admission to sports games. The dramatic club performs a one-act play as a part of its opening meeting. The honor court begins to devise a permanent honor system. President James Morgan announces that men living in fraternity houses may deduct the cost of renting a dorm room from their bill. Four new members are added to the Dickinsonian's editorial staff.
E.C. Herber, member of the Biology faculty, writes paper to be published in parasitology journal. The Dramatic Club's production of "Fly Away Home" is reviewed. Results of student poll on international issues are published. Tennis team starts season.

Football team finishes their first undefeated season season since 1917 with win over Muhlenberg. The Dramatic Club's production of "Ghost Train" is reviewed. College president Fred P. Corson initiated as honorary member of Tau Kappa Alpha.
Noted lecturer and commentator on Japan T.T. Brumbaugh begins four day visit to campus with chapel address. President Judge E. Foster Heller addresses annual Homecoming chapel. The undefeated Red Devil football team anticipates annual match against rival Gettysburg. Dramatic Club prepares fall play, "Ghost Train". Professors and Carlislians recall student days of John Charles Thomas, renowned opera singer and recipient of the degree of Doctor of Music from the college in 1933.
Fifteen students attend the Intercollegiate Conference on Government in Harrisburg. Three of these students hold considerable positions at the conference such as registrar, secretary of a committee and regional director. The 1941 issue of the Hornbook goes to press, its main attraction this year being a poem written in German and translated into English by the Swiss exchange student. A French World War II refugee will be studying at Dickinson next semester. “Vivacious Lady,” a production being put on by the Dramatic Club, will premier May thirteenth at Carlisle High School.
The College Social Committee plans the Mid-Winter Dance for March 7 and campus elects the queen and her attendants. All major construction on Bosler Hall is completed and it is expected that the building will reopen on March 1. Dramatic Club players are performing a skit live on WHP Harrisburg radio station. Carlisle honors its American Hero, Jim Thorpe, with a celebration and event.
An unidentified man breaks into the room of a female freshman in Metzger Hall. He smothers her screams with his hand and tries to remove her bedclothes before being frightened away by her second scream, which is not smothered. The Dramatic Club changes their December sixth production to "YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU." Dr. Wellington A. Parlin of the physics department invents an apparatus to be used in laboratories and appeals the Chicago Science Apparatus Company to put it in its catalog.
The reorganization of the Harman Literary Society is decided by a group of seven female students interested in the furthering of a literary and discussion group. The Dickinson Dramatic Club selects "Charley's Aunt" for their first production of the academic year and will be shown December sixth. The Wilkie Club will be holding a debate against the College Democrats regarding the 1940 presidential race. Two faculty members and three seniors are elected to the Lambda Sigma Phi honorary scientific fraternity.
Student Senate abolishes the Men's Tribunal and creates a new senate committee to take over the Tribunal's duties. May Day festivities are unlikely to be held. College buys new recording machine for the use of the orchestra.
The Student Social Committee has finished its report on social rules at Dickinson and it will be considered at the next meeting of this committee and the Faculty Social Committee. Parents are especially invited to visit on Mother's Day. More work is put into the plans and preparations of the pageant celebrating the Sesquicentennial. Eligibility for awarding Varsity Letters is modified. The Men's Senate decides that elections for the senate will be held in a modified form of the traditional methods, despite all of the criticism students have given this process.
President Waugh and Dean Hitchler give alumni assurances about the direction the college is going in, even though it is a tough economic time. Dickinson's dog population continues to increase. A. J. "Dad" Elliot, a Christian leader, challenges students to engage more in Christian practices. Many freshmen, the registrar reveals, are related to former Dickinsonians. The annual Doll Show was held Dec. 16, 1932 and resulted in $40.00 being donated to the Shiremanstown Home along with dolls and other gifts. A radio transmitter made by Dickinson students is now being tested in the physics lab and will be the basis for the new college radio station W3CY. The dramatic club casts its next production "Holiday" which will be performed around commencement time. A constitution and by-laws are set up for the varsity D Club.
Funds for a new library are expected to be raised over the next four years. The Dramatic Club announces the cast for their April production of "Tommy." The Interfraternity Council announces a new resolution regarding alumni in the rushing process. Student Senate passes a resolution that will require all organizations to submit an itemized budget to Senate. Dickinson women are invited to "play day" at Bucknell University which will allow women from different schools in the area to play each other in athletic contests.
The revolt of freshmen in response to the freshmen rules is unsuccessful in changing them for this year but they will be revised for the next freshman class. The revolt reached such a point that pamphlets were made in support of their cause. The Dramatic Club will be presenting "Square Crooks," a three-act mystery, as their next production. The sophomore class claims ten of the eleven roles. Belles Lettres brings notable speakers to campus including Leon Pearson, Maynard Williamson and Lieutenant Zeimer of Germany.
The Board of Trustees organize several series of lectures on cultural and educational topics for the Dickinson and Carlisle community. They will cover "The Makers of Europe" and "Studies of Great Men." The Sigma Chi fraternity announces at the Interfraternity Council its intent to hold a contest of both scholarship and intramural sports for fraternities to participate in. The Dramatic Club will present several one act plays during Friday chapel in addition to their usual major productions.
The 1935 Commencement Week has begun. The Senior Class has a picnic and dance. The Women's Glee Club gives a recital. The Men's Glee Club also gives a final concert. The Dramatic Club ends the year with their presentation of "Lady Windermere's Fan." It is revealed that there will be three foreign exchange students at Dickinson next year.
The Debate Team will end the season with a debate later in the week. The golf team loses to Johns Hopkins. The Dramatic Club begins try-outs for the play “Lady Windermere’s Fan.” The tennis team loses to Bucknell. Forty new books are added to the library. Wheel and Chain taps nine new members. The Men’s Glee Club gives a concert. The Women’s Athletic Association elects new officers. Sororities hold their spring elections. The Greek Club spoke about Greece and the Christian Church. The Junior swimmers on the Women’s swim team placed first in a meet.
