Announcement of the new editors of the Dickinsonian. Criticism of the course selection policy and process. Criticism of library procedure. Article on "Dickinson Catalogues of 1813-1890. 5 vols. 218 D.". The Middletown District convention was held. Phi Delta Theta's annual banquet will be held during commencement week. The Union Philosophical Society emerges victorious against the Belles Lettres Society in the Annual Inter-Society Debate.  The Combined Musical Clubs deliver an excellent program at Shippensburg, with Director John Craig King producing an exceptional Mandolin Club.  Phi Delta Theta celebrates a fraternal Alumni Day with a banquet.

Philadelphia Club holds banquet.  The annual Day of Prayer will be observed.  Trustee Alex H. Patton, leaves $10,000. Phi Kappa Sigma attends convention in Baltimore. The old piano in Bosler hall is replaced.  Sigma Alpha Epsilon attends its national convention in Memphis, Tennessee. Phi Delta Theta attended their convention in Indianapolis and holds their banquet in Harrisburg. The roof of Denny Hall is completed.

Debate between Dickinson and State College is held, and State College wins. Delta Chi banquet is held. The female glee club of Kee Mar College gives a concert at the Carlisle Opera House. Phi Kappa Sigma takes a trolley ride to Boiling Springs. A performance is given by the American Association for the Education of the Blind in Bosler Hall by blind students. The Union Philosophical Society elects officers. Phi Delta Theta hosts a trolley ride to Boiling Springs, the Indian School, and the Cave.

Carlisle Indians defeat Dickinson in baseball. Dickinson is defeated by State College in the state track meet. The 1900 Microcosm becomes available to students. Article on the career of Dr. Price. Phi Kappa Sigma, Phi Kappa Psi, Beta Theta Pi, Phi Delta Theta, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, and Omega Alpha Iota all hold banquets during commencement week.

An article encourages students to spend more time in studying the Bible, and other states the importance of attending chapel regularly. Discussion of the importance of the Literary Society. Through studies, a group of people in charge of the physical welfare of college students came up with a series of tests to ascertain the health of a student, and these tests will be administered at Dickinson. A mass meeting is called to address the problem of the destruction of college property by way of vandalism. Phi Delta Theta convention held in Ohio. The Union Philosophical Society, the Belles Lettres Society, and the Athletic Association elect new officers. Dickinson attends Y. M. C. A. convention.

Dickinsonian, November 26, 1898

Students are encouraged to spend more time in studying the Bible. The previous week was designated as the “Week of Prayer” by the Y. M. C. A.. It is reported that Lehigh’s poor football management skills lead them to cancel their game with Dickinson. The Phi Alpha Pi Sorority is started by a group of women on the campus. The school adds a chapel choir to sing during chapel services at the college. The Phi Delta Theta Fraternity holds its annual banquet in honor of its new members.

Delta Chi holds a banquet.  The new Scientific Course is announced and its requirements and curriculum detailed.  A lecture series is announced.  The results of the Senior Class Day and Union Philosophical Society elections results announced.  Low attendance at the YMCA Star Course's first event is lamented.  Donations to support athletics at Dickinson are encouraged.   The establishment of a trophy room is proposed.  The class of 1899 elects its athletics committee.  Science facilities are improved with new laboratory space and an aquarium.&nbsp

Dickenson looses against Bucknell and Penn State in the annual triangular debate. The 14th annual banquet of the Dickinson Alumni Association is held in Harrisburg. Coach McAndrews issues the first call for baseball hopefulls. The Dickinson basketball team takes a 33-25 victory over Gettysburg. The Drama Club will present "The Whole Town's Talking" on March 16th. The first annual Miami Triad Dance was held by Sigma Chi, Phi Delta Theta, and Beta Theta Pi fraternities.
